Español vs Estados Unidos Educación

1. LOS ESTUDIANTES ESTÁN COLOCADOS EN UNA CLASE DE NIVEL MIXTO (COMO EN LAS ESCUELAS PRIMARIAS AMERICANAS) Y ESTÁN CON LOS MISMOS NIÑOS TODO EL DÍA LARGO, AÑO DESPUÉS DEL AÑO.

Pros: Hay un montón de vínculos entre estos estudiantes - que por lo general han estado juntos durante cuatro años en el momento en que terminan la escuela media! Esto reduce el bullying mucho; De hecho, estos niños están tan acostumbrados uno al otro que realmente son como una gran familia, lo cual es probablemente propicio para un ambiente de aprendizaje positivo.

Contras: Los niños que hablan inglés perfectamente están aprendiendo el presente simple con los niños que ni siquiera pueden decir sus nombres. En la clase de matemáticas los niños que podrían estar empezando álgebra todavía están aprendiendo acerca de las fracciones. Este sistema castiga a los niños brillantes a un extremo. No hay nivel de honores, nivel de AP o incluso trabajo extra para alumnos más inteligentes o más rápidos.

2. ESTUDIANTES PERMANECEN, LOS MAESTROS CAMBIAN CLASES.

Pros: Hipotéticamente, este sistema debe ser mucho más rápido y ahorrar en las necesidades de espacio. Puesto que algunos profesores enseñan más de un tema, dos aulas nunca son necesarias, como suelen estar en los Estados Unidos. Idealmente, la campana sonaría, y los profesores correrían de una clase a la siguiente en 5 minutos.

Contras: El sistema de aula compartida hace aburrido, paredes blancas y absolutamente ninguna

comodidad o creatividad en las aulas. Las paredes blancas en una escuela primaria son sólo triste!

3. LOS PROFESORES NO TIENEN UN CÓDIGO DE VESTIR

Pros: Los profesores siempre son cómodos y no tienen que salir y gastar mucho dinero en un armario nuevo negocio informal.

Contras: Los maestros se mezclan con los estudiantes, perdiendo parte del respeto que la ropa de negocios provee. Algunos maestros también llevan este hecho a un extremo, vistiendo la frontera de manera inapropiada, y dando a los estudiantes un pobre ejemplo de qué ponerse en el mundo profesional.

4. NO ALMUERZOS ESCOLARES

En realidad, realmente depende de la escuela y la región de España. En Andalucía, la escuela media y la escuela secundaria se detuvieron a las 3 pm y todos se fueron a casa para el día, siempre comiendo en casa. En Madrid, muchas escuelas han dividido días de sesiones, de 9-1 y 3-5 por ejemplo. Durante ese descanso de dos horas, los estudiantes pueden quedarse en la escuela y comer el almuerzo escolar oficial (traer su propio no está permitido), o pueden ir a casa y comer en casa.

Pros: Menos cruel cultura de la cafetería americana. Nadie se burla de lo que traen a comer (no se puede traer nada!).

Contras: Las sesiones divididas hacen el día super largo y agotador para los estudiantes, aunque son útiles para los padres que trabajan.

Higher Education Debt

Credit Score

On Everfi.com I learned about Credit Score. A few things I learned is, to keep track of your credit score, explore a credit report, how to help your credit, components of a credit score, and what exactly is a credit score. Keeping tabs on your credit is important. You should check your credit report yearly for accuracy, and notify the credit bureau immediately if you notice any information that is incorrect. You are entitled to a free credit report each year. Credit checks are classified as either soft or hard inquiries. Hard inquiries show up on your credit report. This is when someone checks your credit to make a lending decision. You can increase your credit score by paying bills on time, using a low percentage of your available credit, and using a variety of credit types.

Creating Advertising Flyers in Word

This unit we learned more about Microsoft Word. We has to choose a topic to make a flyer and I chose child abuse. I included many facts on child abuse, and had to make a convincing flyer. I got to personalize my own flyer and make it the way I want it to be. 

Wireless Communications

In the Wireless Communications module I learned about texting and driving and photos going viral. It put me in the situation of someone texting while they were driving while I was in the backseat and it taught me how to handle the situation. They also put me in a situation with a girls private photos going viral and how they spread fast and how to handle that situation by telling your parents.

Choosing a Computer

In the 'Choosing a Computer' module I learned some new things that I didn't know that will change some current habits and help me in the future. One thing that I learned about was the CPU. The CPU is the brains of the computer and runs the computer programs. I then learned about the the Memory/RAM. The Central Processing Unit uses memory/random-access memory (RAM) to run software. The more RAM, the faster the CPU can process. One of the final things I learned about was the Hard Drive. The Hard Drive stores programs, software, and data that you save to your computer. It can be MP3 files, word-processing documents, and even computer game scores. This information helps me know more about more computer, so in the future, I know how to buy a computer that will be best for me and last me the longest.
